The Longleaf Trace is the South’s premier recreational trail. Extending from Downtown Hattiesburg, through the campus of The University of Southern Mississippi, and stopping in Sumrall, Bassfield, Carson, and on to Prentiss, Mississippi, it is home to biking, hiking, running, skating and horseback riding. The Trace extends 44 +/- miles through the beautiful south Mississippi landscape.
There is no user fee for this beautiful trail and the Longleaf Trace relies solely on support from the communities and counties through which it traverses, plus friends like you.
You can help support the Longleaf Trace by becoming a Friend of the Trace. Your contribution is tax deductible and you will receive logo items listed below and qualify for a 20% discount on all logo items sold at the Gateway at Hattiesburg when presenting your membership card.
Friends of the Trace
Support the Longleaf Trace by becoming a Friend of the Trace through a donation of $25.00 or more annually. As a Friend of the Trace, you will receive a membership card that can be used to receive 20% off bike rentals and logo merchandise at the Longleaf Trace Gateway in Hattiesburg.
Without your support, the Longleaf Trace improvements, upkeep, and expansion would not be possible. Through your donations, contributions, and purchase of items sold by the district you can help ensure the future of Longleaf Trace. All contributions are tax deductible.

Pine Belt Pacers
The Pine Belt Pacers is a running organization that is open to anyone who has an interest in recreational and competitive running and walking in the Pine Belt area of Mississippi. The group strives to provide physical, social, and emotional support for anyone interested in participating and/or competing in distance running or walking. They are longtime friends and supporters of the Longleaf Trace and host three established weekly runs and anyone is welcome to join.
