Carson Station

This is a primitive camp area near mile maker 35 on the Longleaf Trace. There are watering troughs, BBQ grills, and picnic tables at the sites as well as restrooms in proximity to the campground.

Denbury Beaver Pond

The Denbury Beaver Pond is only accessible by the trail for primitive camping only, located near mile marker 13 between Clyde Station and Epley Depot.  This area consists of 12 +/- acres which will become the ecological and nature focal point on the Longleaf Trace. The final plans for the site include a horse corral, overnight camping, a riding trail around the pond, an amphitheater and outdoor learning center.

Shady Cove RV Park

Located approximately 10 minutes from the Longleaf Trace Gateway, this local RV Park offers daily, weekly, and monthly rates, including 30 or 50-amp. Other amenities offered are free satellite TV and Wi-Fi at every site, a convenient after-hours registration area, a fully stocked fishing pond with catfish, bass and bream, a laundry facility, restrooms and shower houses, and furnished cabins and studio apartments for rent by the week or month.

Lake Jeff Davis

Minutes from the portion of the Trace running through Prentiss, Lake Jeff Davis is a 100-acre lake located in Jefferson Davis County, 3 miles South of Prentiss on Hwy 42. 13 campsites are available.

Kamper Park

Located on a spur off the Longleaf Trace, Kamper Park is home to the Hattiesburg Zoo, tennis courts, baseball fields, and a walking and exercise area. The expansive park features four covered pavilions, playgrounds, and picnic areas and is open dawn to dusk.

Chain Park

Hattiesburg’s Chain Park is located near Downtown Hattiesburg. Encompassing 37 acres, this public space sits along the Leaf River. In 2018, the Longleaf Trace officially extended to Chain Park where visitors can find a family-friendly atmosphere and recreational environment. Features include walking paths, green space, children’s area with playground, and restrooms.

Paul B. Johnson State Park

Located in the heart of Mississippi's Pine Belt region, approximately 20 minutes from the Longleaf Trace gateway, Paul B. Johnson is the gateway to a natural wonderland marked by majestic long-leaf and loblolly pines, delicate dogwoods, and ancient oaks. A variety of recreational activities and facilities are available including visitor center and game room, picnic tables and grills, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, splash pad, disc golf, swimming, nature trails, and fishing, boating, and water skiing on Geiger Lake, a 225 acre fresh water lake. The park offers 125 RV campsites, 25 primitive tent campsites, 16 cabins, 3 cottages, and a group camp facility.
