Goal:  This event is meant to promote healthier living through diet and exercise.  We plan to target retirees and overweight citizens in the Hattiesburg community.  Our goal is to show how easy 30 minutes of exercise a day is.  Participants will receive a T-shirt and heart healthy food for completing a mile walk (from the Gateway at Southern Miss to the tunnel at West 7th Street and back).  There will be tables set up with information about health-related topics and organizations.

Our theme is "Take a Path to a Healthier You."  Registration is from 8:00 am until 9:00 am.  Registratants will begin walking from 9:00 am to 10:00 am from the Gateway at Southern Miss to the tunnel at West 7th and back, equaling roughly one mile.  Once finished, participants will receive a T-shirt, a free Hearthealthy meal from Chili's, and information from several vendors around town about how to live a healthy lifestyle.

Our purpose is to try and show the retirees in the community how easy 30 minutes of exercise a day can be.  Forrest General, one of our platinum sponsors, will also be targeting obese children in the community.
